Artist: Brian Rylance
BA (Hons). 1990 Visual Studies, Humberside College of Higher Ed. A Fellow of IOSH and a Freeman of the city of Coventry.
Brian came to East Yorkshire and BAe 28 years ago. Now retired he was a qualified Aeronautical Engineer and Health, Safety and Environmental Executive. Having painted since his schooldays he has explored most genre of visual art, settling now on traditional watercolour with the occasional foray into acrylic media. Prior to his degree he had used an airbrush to produce photographic and realist images, however five years part time study at Hull cured him of this deviant practice! All things mechanical are his other passion and feature in a fair proportion of his work. Landscape and figurative/portraiture are allowed to creep in when an image excites.
Brian is a member ERA and of a small group of painters who meet weekly at Swanland to paint and discuss painting. Travel. Classic car events provide the opportunity to combine them with painting and documentary video/film. Comments and Commissions most welcome.
